My Water, My Cultureย is an art exhibition accompanied by art projects encouraging participants to explore their creativity by exploring their relationship with water. The place and culture of oneโs origin informs how a person thinks about water and its use. Through a series of exhibitions and workshops, participants of all ages explore the question โWhat is the state of water in Arizona and my community?โ to โWhat does my life experience teach me about water?โ Now, when water has become a topic of great concern, โMy Water, My Cultureโ brings people together to explore, to find expression through dialogue, presentations, and artmaking, and to identify personal action for a healthier planet.ย

Mitra Kamali uses her platform to address social issuesย such as water sustainability, human rights, andย racial equality. She frequently incorporates herย Persian heritage into her work, creating artย that honors influential Persian women and poets.
